Why organize documents by stage

The EPS process moves in steps, and different documents are needed at different points. You do not need everything on day one. Preparing the right paper at the right stage keeps your application clean and avoids delays. Below is a general guide; the official announcement always lists the exact required documents for the current cycle.

Stage 1: Registering for the EPS-TOPIK

To sit the Korean test, you typically need:

• A valid passport
• A specification (spec) photo that meets the required size and format
• A working email address and phone number
• The exam fee (roughly USD 24-28)

Make sure your passport is valid well into the future and that your name and details are spelled exactly as they appear officially. Small mismatches cause big problems later.

Stage 2: After you pass (skills test and roster registration)

Once you pass the EPS-TOPIK and move toward the skills test and the job-seeker roster, you will generally need:

• A completed job application form
• A health check result
• Your passport and photo again as required

The health check matters because passing a health examination is part of eligibility. Complete it through the proper channel.

Stage 3: Selection, contract, and visa

After an employer selects you from the roster, the paperwork shifts to employment and immigration:

• A standard labor contract (a fixed, standardized form)
• The Certificate of Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued in the Korean process
• Documents required for the E-9 visa application
• Completion of pre-departure training before entry

You do not chase individual companies yourself at this stage; employers select from the roster, and the official process generates these documents in order.

Keep your documents honest

• Never submit false information. A hidden deportation or overstay history, a false identity, or a fake certificate can disqualify you and can lead to being barred.
• Do not pay anyone to "fix" your documents or to move you up a list. That is not how the roster works.
• Keep copies of everything you submit and every receipt from official fees.
